Nations Largest Defense Contractor, Contracts POTM
The client was General Dynamics, the nation's largest defense contractor, known for its highly-scripted, precisely-run events. The transition from the president's opening remarks to the start of the band was meticulously rehearsed, with an elaborate set change and a V.O.G. band intro. The band was preparing to take the stage on cue. Just one problem. The evening began to run more quickly than expected. The band was still upstairs in their rooms dressing for the show, and the president was about five minutes from finishing his talk. Fortunately, the rhythm section and half the horn section were ready with seconds to spare. On cue, they launched into a couple of high-energy instrumentals until the rest of the horns and the two male front singers took the stage. After a couple of songs, the three lead female vocalists hit the stage and the whole band was finally all there. Afterwards, the client couldn't have been more appreciative of the band's ability to make the show happen, and apparently the improvisation was so seamless that everyone thought the show went off as planned.
